BenJarvus Green-Ellis Expected to Sign Contract 'During the Week' FOXBORO, Mass. — It won't be long before running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis gets back into action for the Patriots.

Director of player personnel Nick Caserio expects a quick resolution to Green-Ellis' contract status, and the unrestricted free agent could be signed in a matter of days, if not moments.

"We're talking to Benny," Caserio said Sunday morning. "I would think at some point here during the week, I think he's going to be here."

Green-Ellis ran for 1,008 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2010, and he was the franchise's first 1,000-yard rusher since Corey Dillon in 2004.

Caserio also said defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth will be practicing "soon," and guard Logan Mankins falls under the same category as newly-signed free agents who must wait until Aug. 4 (or earlier, depending on the official ratification of the CBA) to practice with the team.
