Which National League Stadium That Opened in the 2000s Is Your Favorite? One of the good things about interleague play — and there seems to be fewer and fewer of them every day — is the chance for fans of a team to get away to different cities and see a different ballpark.

That's huge for NL fan bases who get to come into Boston for the first time, as even the biggest Red Sox hater can admit that Fenway Park is a truly special place.

Of course, as Sox fans themselves will attest, getting tickets to catch a game at Fenway isn't always easy.

Sometimes, Red Sox fans have to make a vacation out of seeing the Sox on the road, and interleague play is as good a time as any to do so. By doing that, fans get to see stadiums they've never seen before. And for those fans, the National League has quite a few gems that have opened recently.

Of course, the Red Sox got are getting a look at three of them on this road trip. They opened in Pittsburgh at PNC Park, the home of the Pirates, and the home to one of the best outfield skylines in the bigs.

From there, the Sox traveled across Pennsylvania to tangle with the Phillies. Luckily for the Phillies, their fans, opposing teams and really, humankind, Veteran's Stadium is no more. In its place is the beautiful Citizens Bank Park. Centered in the "sporting district" of Philly, the Bank is on the list of modern ballparks with a retro feel.

The Sox are now in Houston where they'll end their nine-game NL trip on Sunday, in front of Astros fans at the ballpark formerly known as Enron Field, Minute Maid Park. The new Houston home, which replaced the curious monstrosity that was the Astrodome, has some of the more peculiar quirks in all of baseball. The hill with the flagpole center field come to mind, as does the train track that runs above the left-field bleachers.

These three gorgeous venues are only a small sample of the modern-day gems of ballparks across the NL. AT&T Park in San Francisco is on the short list of many people's favorite ballparks to visit. Citi Field in New York is full of sparkling amenities and Petco Park is awesome for not only its unique architecture, but the simple fact that it is located in San Diego.
