Cumberland Rolls Over Barre Community 12-4, While Goffstown Remains Unbeaten With Win Over Andover

Cumberland, R.I., needed to win to get into the New England regional semifinal and they didn't disappoint. Two home runs propelled Cumberland to a 12-4 victory over Barre Community, Vermont.

Ryan McCormick and Christopher Wright provided the blasts in the route, which consisted of Cumberland scoring in all six innings, including five runs in the fourth.

Goffstown, N.H., and Andover, Mass., played a very strategic game that NESN's Jack Edwards said was similar to a game of poker. Goffstown ended up prevailing 5-2, though.

NESN will once again be the home for Thursday's action. Fairfield, Conn., will take on Cumberland at 3 p.m., while Goffstown will take on Andover in the 7 p.m. game.
