This is what's supposed to happen when a foul ball reaches the stands. Someone catches it, finds the nearest little kid, hands him the souvenir and gives him something to remember for the rest of his life.
Unfortunately, some people lose any sense of dignity when a foul ball comes their way and scar young baseball fans for life.
Sunday night, one Red Sox fan did the right thing and handed over his souvenir to a youngster two rows in front of him. It's doubtful the youngster made it to the 10th inning to see Josh Reddick's walkoff single, but he'll always have one of the most sought souvenirs in sports.
