Rays Win AL Wild Card With Evan Longoria Walk-Off Home Run, Red Sox Loss in Baltimore In the matter of five minutes, the Red Sox saw their playoff chances disappear.

The Red Sox dropped a heart-breaker in Baltimore when Robert Andino drove in the winning run to give the Orioles a 4-3 win. With the Rays in extra innings with the Yankees down in Florida, the Rays all of a sudden needed a win to take the wild card.

Evan Longoria hit a walk-off home run, his second of the game, to give the Rays an 8-7 win, and it also gave Joe Maddon’s bunch the American League wild card.
