Seyi Ojo will be the subject of a bidding war between Liverpool and Chelsea.

Kenny Dalglish is prepared to up the ante to £2 million ($3.2 million) for the 14-year-old defender, according to the Daily Mirror.

“Liverpool are desperate to nab him as part of a push to recruit the best domestic talent around, and they are further down the line with negotiations than their rivals,” the report says.

Ojo, a defender in the M.K. Dons youth system, plays well above his age group for his club. He was recently called up to England’s U-16 national team.

Which club he joins will depend on the assurances he’s given regarding playing time. It’s likely that he will expect to break into the first team at either club by age 17 or 18. A year-long loan spell at a team in a lower-division team would likely follow, before he returns to a big club as a seasoned professional.
