Brendan Shanahan, NHL Release Video of ‘Good Decisions’ to Prove New Hitting Rules Don’t Ruin Sport (Video)

Worried that new NHL honcho Brendan Shanahan and all these "rulles" about "not injuring players with illegal hits" are robbing hockey of all the things that make the sport awesome? Well, worry no more.

The league has released a video featuring "good decisions" by players along the boards as well as some of the biggest — but still legal — hits of the preseason.

Many of the so-called "good decisions" focus on players easing up or not finishing their checks in potentially dangerous boarding situations. Then, the fun begins.

At about the 2:10 mark in the video below, Shanahan switches gears to showcase some good, old-fashioned hitting. And the best part? All the hits are deemed "clean" by the league and didn't result in any Shanabans.
