Ever since the NHL implemented shootouts, there's been a lot of debate as to whether or not games should be decided that way. Most goaltenders would prefer if they weren't.
Even though the B's came out on the winning side of a shootout in Chicago on Saturday night, Tim Thomas noted that he's not a big fan of shootouts. He said that they aren't very fun for him, even though they may be for the fans.
Love them or hate them, though, Thomas stopped all three shots he faced in the shootout to lead the B's to victory.
Thomas also discussed the importance of the win and the unique atmosphere of games featuring two Original Six teams — especially when those teams don't see each other often, as is the case with Boston and Chicago.
