The Bruins were a lot better than the Islanders on Saturday night. The B’s scored three goals in the first and third periods to win 6-0 in an arena that sounded at times like the TD Garden.
The Bruins wore their black uniforms and the fans who traveled to Long Island to see the Bruins play got to watch the B’s take over the Islanders’ home arena. One game after struggling against the bottom-dwelling Blue Jackets and needing a shootout to win, the Bruins left no doubt this time out.
Chris Kelly was a big part of that, scoring two goals and notching an assist to boot. For that, he wins NESN Nation’s “Crazy Eights” player of the game award for his contribution to the team’s eighth win in a row.
