The Patriots' starting defense on Sunday night against the Jets featured a few names that might not be all too familiar to some — including the producers over at NBC.

During the Sunday Night Football telecast, Jeff Tarpinian's and Sterling Moore's presence in the Pats starting lineup was such a curveball that the network didn't have video of the players introducing themselves and stating their alma mater. It's a bit surprising considering such player intros have become a staple in the broadcast over the years.

The result? Well, let's just say there were a few awkward pauses, as still shots of Tarpinian and Moore stood in place of the video intros.

Obviously, Tarpinian and Moore aren't exactly household names, but the still shots and accompanying pauses made you wonder if "First Last" or "Player 1" might later make a cameo.

Tarpinian and Moore, of course, were making their first career starts, which Al Michaels noted at the conclusion of the team's intros.

The video of the unorthodox introductions can be seen here.
