Shawn Thornton isn't exactly a prolific goal scorer. But when the opportunity presents itself, the Bruins enforcer is more than capable of putting the puck in the net.
Thornton scored the lone goal in the Bruins' 2-1 loss to the Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday. And while it wasn't the prettiest goal, it reinforces the fact that it doesn't matter how the puck goes in the net, as long as it goes in.
The veteran forward showed great poise and patience on the goal, getting himself into a position where he could screen the goaltender and tip the puck in. The result of the game wasn't what the Bruins were hoping for, as their 15-game point streak came to an end, but they certainly showed some determination throughout.
