Kings defenseman Jack Johnson has never been known as a big-time goal scorer, with his career high for goals in one season sitting at a whopping eight in 2009-10. But where he lacks in scoring, he compensates in creativity when it comes to celebrations.

The 24-year-old apparently has a case of Tim Tebow fever, as he celebrated his goal Monday night against the Capitals by dropping to a knee and reflecting. Or as the kids say, he Tebowed.

Sure, it's not pulling a Sharpie out of his sock and signing a puck, and it's not busting out a cell phone, either, but by NHL standards, it's as bold a celebration as you'll likely see on any given night.

Johnson told reporters after the game this his friends dared him to celebrate in the style of Tebow while they were watching Sunday's Broncos-Steelers game. He hadn't scored a goal since Dec. 1, so he probably figured he was safe. Alas, there he was early in the second period, burying a pass from Kyle Clifford.

"I ended up scoring and I thought, 'I've got to pay up,'" Johnson said, according to The Washington Times.

Not everyone was a fan of the seemingly good-natured celebration.

"I understand he's just trying to be funny, but still it's kind of a stupid celebration," Capitals defenseman Karl Alzner told the newspaper.

And so, even in other sports, Tebow continues to divide the world.

I think he should choose SNL. That skit with the kids was hilarious.

It takes guts to celebrate like this in a sport like hockey.
