Many people are concerned about the Celtics' slow start to the season. Kendrick Perkins is not one of those people.

The former Celtics center, who returns to TD Garden for the first time as a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday night, said he expects the C's to make some noise in the playoffs this year.

"They're gonna be good," Perkins said. "They're gonna make the playoffs, and then whatever team they're gonna face, I feel sorry for that team."

Perk said he expects the Celtics to hit full stride around late February into April, during which they'll put together a 10 or 11-game winning streak. And for those who question the big — well, suddenly slim — man's confidence in his former club, Perkins says, "trust me."

Perkins, of course, spent seven-plus seasons in Boston before being shipped to Oklahoma City prior to last season's trade deadline. And while he'll be donning a different jersey when the Thunder visit the Celtics on Monday night, head coach Doc Rivers insists that Perkins is a "Celtic for life."
