There's been some backlash following the news that Bobby Valentine is banning alcohol from the Red Sox clubhouse. But none of it is from the people who it impacts most.
Rather than Valentine's players speaking out against the ban, it's those from the outside looking in, including former Sox skipper Terry Francona and Rays manager Joe Maddon.
Francona is now an ESPN analyst, so his take is somewhat understandable. But Maddon's may have been more of a jab at the Sox than anything.
This is the latest instance that the AL East is no longer a two-horse race, as the Rays are a force to be reckoned with, and a team that is looking to stand and trade punches with the Sox and Yankees again in 2012.
