Report: Joe Maddon Gets Three-Year Extension From RaysIt probably won't come as a surprise to many, but the Tampa Bay Rays are expected to announce Wednesday that they're keeping one of the best managers in the game around for the near future.

The Tampa Bay Times reports that manager Joe Maddon and the Rays have come to terms on a three-year contract extension. According to the report, the deal will be announced on Wednesday.

The reigning manager of the year, Maddon has led the Rays to a 495-477 record over six years with Tampa Bay. Maddon has led the once-lowly Rays to the playoffs three times during his tenure, including a World Series berth in 2008 where the Rays fell to the Phillies.

Maddon was also named the AL manager of the year in 2008.
