Reports: LaRon Landry Shows Up on Patriots' RadarThe Patriots might be ready to beef up their defensive backfield.

New England has shown interest in safety LaRon Landry, according to Yahoo! Sports, and the 27-year-old might visit New England soon, according to the Boston Herald.

Landry, the sixth overall pick in the 2007 draft, has been one of the league’s best safeties when healthy. However, his last two seasons ended with Achilles injuries, so his medical evaluation will play a significant role in his next contract.

Landry already has indirect ties with Patriots coach Bill Belichick, who is close friends with Alabama head coach Nick Saban, who brought Landry to LSU.

Lastly, there’s another strong pipeline between the Patriots and Landry. Agent Joel Segal represents Landry along with wide receiver Randy Moss, running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis, wide receiver Brandon Tate and defensive lineman Gerard Warren, among a number of high-profile players across the NFL.
