Rob Gronkowski, Wes Welker Squaring Off in EA Sports Madden '13 Cover VoteWe already know Rob Gronkowski is fiesta, but will he be a Madden cover boy next?

Gronk and Wes Welker are the Patriots’ nominees for the chance to be the cover athlete on this year’s Madden NFL video game. However, each team gets two nominees, so Welker and Gronkowski are battling it out in the first round of voting to decide who will move on to voting against the other 31 teams.

EA Sports has paired with ESPN’s SportsNation to encourage fans to vote for which NFL star will go on the Madden cover. Last year, dark horse candidate Peyton Hillis claimed the title, but after a possibly cursed 2011 season, isn’t nominated this year.

Gronkowski, to no surprise, seems pretty gung-ho to grab the nomination, judging by his campaign video. Besides, there’s no way Gronk is scared off by any curses.
