The only question left concerning Patrice Bergeron and the Selke Trophy is why he wasn't nominated sooner.
The award goes to the best defensive forward in the NHL, and Bergeron has made his case by playing well in all three zones and breaking in a couple of young teammates on his line: Tyler Seguin and Brad Marchand.
Bergeron also won 973 faceoffs this year and led the league in plus-minus with a plus-36.
