If Humber pitches on five days' rest, he would host the Red Sox at U.S. Cellular Field for the first of the four games between the two teams.
Considering Humber has never thrown a complete game before, much less a shutout, no-hitter or perfect game, it may be expecting too much to think he'll do it again. But Mark Buehrle — also a White Sox pitcher — followed his 2009 perfect game with another 5 2/3 innings of perfection his next time out.
Humber is the last thing the Red Sox need right now, as Boston looks to wrap up its first 15 games of the season, which have all been against American League contenders. Any hope that this next stretch would be lighter for the Sox may have to rest until after they see Chicago's new phenom.
