This year marks a special one at Fenway Park, and no player epitomized what it meant to be a member of the Red Sox like Ted Williams.
In addition to being regarded as one of the greatest hitters to ever live, Williams was a true American and a genuine person, touching the lives of whoever he met.
Some Williams memorabilia was auctioned off this weekend, marking the first major auction of his sports, military and personal memorabilia. His 1949 MVP plaque reportedly sold for nearly $300,000.
And even for those who weren't able to purchase the unique items, there was still some time to check them out. NESN's Randy Scott has more in the video above.
