David Ortiz Says He's 'OK to Go' After Leaving Friday's Game With Sore Left HeelBOSTON — David Ortiz isn't concerned about his sore left heel.

"I iced it [Friday] night, I'm OK," Ortiz said. "It's still a little sore, but I'll try [Saturday] night."

A day after being pulled in the seventh inning of Friday night's victory, the Red Sox designated hitter was in Saturday's lineup, hitting third. Manager Bobby Valentine said he plans to be very cautious with Ortiz and will monitor the situation.

"We have an understanding, if he feels anything, if he feels like maybe he should be not swinging, even if it's in the middle of an at-bat, he'll let us know," Valentine said. "But he says he's OK to go, and the training room thinks he's OK to go."

There is, of course, just one limitation that will hinder Ortiz moving forward.

"When I talked to him, he said he's probably not going to be stealing a lot of bases tonight," Valentine joked.

In 32 games this season, Ortiz has slugged seven homers and 23 RBIs to go along with a .352 batting average.
