Doubront (2-1, 5.29 ERA) will take the mound for the Sox in the third matchup of their four-game series against the Indians on Saturday.
Doubront was strong in his last outing, fighting his way into the seventh inning for the first time ever to help the overtaxed bullpen. He allowed three earned runs and seven hits in that game in Kansas City for an 11-5 Red Sox win. It will be Doubront's first start against the Indians.
Starting opposite Doubront will be right-hander Zach McAllister (1-0, 3.00), who has made only one major league start. He went six innings and gave up two earned runs against the White Sox on May 7.
Ryan Sweeney is getting another go in the leadoff spot for Saturday's game, with Mike Aviles falling into the nine-hole. Daniel Nava, called up Thursday, is making his third straight appearance in the lineup for the Sox.
While quite a few Boston players have been hot lately, none have been lighting it up like Dustin Pedroia. The second baseman has hit safely in 12 straight games, batting .346 with plenty of power (six doubles, two homers, 10 RBIs) in that stretch.
