Tim Thomas is clearly a complicated, multifaceted guy. Earlier this year it was his outspoken snubbing of President Barack Obama's invitation to the White House to celebrate the Bruins' Stanley Cup championship. Now it's his retirement — with a year left on his contract — to focus on what he referred to as "the three F's."
But will Thomas really just skip all of the 2012-2013 season? Before the Stanley Cup final is even finished, speculation is already rampant as to whether or not Thomas will get the desire to play again some time next year. Just one year removed from nearly singlehandedly willing the Bruins to the Cup, he still has the ability. But will he have the desire at some point? Right now that answer appears to be no.
