Washington Nationals Pitcher Gio Gonzalez Uses Twitter to Find a Date for GalaMost people who have trouble finding a date ask to be set up by a friend. Some might even ask a random person they bump into on the sidewalk.

Washington Nationals pitcher Gio Gonzalez is taking that one step further: He's asking 30,000 people.

Gonzalez took to Twitter on Monday, claiming he needs to find a date for the Nationals' 2012 Dream Gala.

"Hey I need a date for the Gala on Saturday night, [any] sexy single ladies interested," Gonzalez tweeted.

With 30,485 followers, Gonzalez clarified his tweet to make the selection process easier.

"Must be 21 or older, please," Gonzalez said in his next tweet.

The Washington Nationals 2012 Dream Gala is a cocktail reception and silent auction to raise money for area youth baseball programs and improving the lives of children in the community. Guests will get the opportunity to mingle with Nationals players, like Gonzalez, and attend the team's VIP after-party.

The 26-year-old pitcher, who makes more than $8 million a year, shouldn't have any trouble finding a date now.
