Vote: Should Penn State's Joe Paterno Statue Be Taken Down?Joe Paterno was an icon at Penn State University. In some circles, he always will be.

However, with the Freeh Report now shining a harsh light on the former Penn State football head coach, there are many critics who are now reconsidering JoePa’s rightful place in history.

Paterno was made aware of a police investigation surrounding Jerry Sandusky, according to the report, and he and other key administrators at the school did nothing about it. Paterno was told by Mike McQueary that he saw Sandusky in the shower with a young boy doing something of a sexual nature. Again, Paterno and his fellow administrators did nothing.

Suddenly, Paterno’s legacy is crumbling and the lasting image of Paterno is a much different one than the university may be comfortable with. A statue of Paterno still stands on Penn State’s campus, in front of Beaver Stadium, as a tribute to the school’s iconic head coach and one of the greatest college football coaches of all time.

In light of the recent revelations about Joe Paterno’s behavior, what should the school do?

Should Penn State remove the Joe Paterno statue from its campus?
