His path to the big leagues may be blocked at the moment by Jose Iglesias in Pawtucket, but Xander Bogaerts is doing his best to force the issue as he attempts to climb his way up through the minor league system.
Bogaerts, a 19-year-old shortstop from Aruba, plays for the High-A Salem Red Sox and was ranked the No. 58 prospect in baseball by Baseball America prior to this season. Heading into Sunday's action, he's batting .287 with 14 home runs and 58 RBIs.
