A number of NHL players will be playing overseas during the NHL lockout, but most plan to return as soon as the league's labor dispute is settled. Alex Ovechkin isn't so sure about his future.
The Capitals star said recently that it isn't exactly a foregone conclusion that he'll return to the NHL once everything is squared away.
"As to the future, it will depend on what kind of conditions there will be in the NHL with the new CBA," Ovechkin recently told a Russian news agency RIA Novosti. "If our contracts get slashed, I will have to think whether to return there or not. I won't rule out staying in the KHL, even past this season."
Yahoo! Sports' Greg Wyshynski dropped by NESN Daily on Thursday to discuss Ovechkin's claim, and he views the All-Star's comments as nothing more than "an empty threat."
