Allan Webster was one of the key pieces that the Red Sox received from the Dodgers in the Adrian Gonzalez trade earlier this month.
Webster and a few other younger prospects are working their way through the minors and have a great deal of upside at the major league level. There is still plenty of time before some of them see work in the big leagues, but Red Sox general manager Ben Cherington sees Webster and Brandon Workman as two guys who could find their way to Fenway in the near future.
NESN's Peter Gammons caught up with Cherington before Friday night's game at Fenway, and the GM discussed his thoughts on the multitude of talent in the farm system.
