Dustin Pedroia Leads Charge With Yankee-Killer Pedro Ciriaco Looking to Continue Spoiler Ways
Editor’s note: The temperature gauge is a Bill James-created statistic that measures how hot or cold hitters are. We will spotlight Red Sox and opposing team temperatures on game days.

Dustin Pedroia has been tearing it up lately for the Red Sox, and seems poised to put the team on his back to carry them across the finish line.

Boston might not have much to play for these days from a postseason standpoint, but considering their opponents, every loss the Sox can deal out will have an impact on the playoff picture.

Pedroia is playing as if the Sox are still in the thick of things, going 5-for-8 with two home runs in the team’s last two games. After fighting through nagging injuries for much of this season, Pedey could be finally putting things together at an innoportune time for anybody expecting the Sox to roll over down the stretch.

Wednesday brings another game against the New York Yankees, which Pedroia’s infield partner Pedro Ciriaco must relish. While Ciriaco has batted just .265 against teams not named the Yankees, he owns a robust .486 mark against the Bronx Bombers and scored the winning run against them on Tuesday.
