Felix Doubront earned his first win in exactly two months on Tuesday in a marathon four-hour game at the Trop.
Doubront pitched six-innings of one-hit baseball for the Red Sox, walking five and striking out five. The lefty only struggled in the third inning, allowing all three runs after he walked the bases loaded and allowed a single to Ben Zobrist and a sacrifice fly to Evan Longoria.
The Red Sox’ win pushed the Rays further out of the playoff race. Tampa Bay is now 5 1/2 games out of the second AL wild card spot.
