Jenny Dell’s Trip to Babe Ruth’s Birthplace Reveals Some Very Interesting Facts About Slugger (Video)


Before Babe Ruth became one of the most famous athletes to ever walk planet Earth, the slugger was born in Baltimore and signed with the then-minor league Baltimore Orioles. Ruth was eventually sold to Boston and subsequently to New York, but the city of Baltimore knows where it all began.

Ruth’s birthplace has actually been turned into a shrine, with many of his personal belongings on display for baseball fans to see. NESN’s Jenny Dell caught a glimpse of some of those items and learned more about Ruth’s interesting life on a recent Red Sox road trip.

For every strikeout by a Red Sox pitcher at Fenway Park in June, Aetna will donate $250 to Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program. Through June 25, the donation mark stands at $30,000.
