The Boston Red Sox got a much-needed win Tuesday night, notching a 4-3 victory over the Seattle Mariners and snapping a seven-game losing streak.
Pitching — or the lack thereof — contributed to the Sox’ woeful road trip, and the club needed a strong perfomance from Jon Lester to right the ship.
Lester delivered, throwing six innings and allowing three runs on nine hits. The lefty would have liked to make it to the seventh or eighth inning, but a high pitch count took him out of the game early. He threw 111 pitches before giving way to the bullpen, which sealed up a win for him.
To hear Lester’s thoughts on his performance and what the win meant to the team, check out the video.
