Keith Hernandez Reportedly Considering Shaving His Trademark Mustache Before Final Mets Game of YearIn an affront to fans of the fine art of mustaches, Keith Hernandez is considering shaving his trademark ‘stache.

The Mets broadcaster has recently discussed the possibility of shaving his mustache before the team’s final game of the season, according to the New York Times, because it has been turning gray since he stopped using coloring product.

“I don’t want to draw attention to it,” the 58-year-old told the Times in a telephone interview. “I’ll do it, and whoever’s watching the game will see it.”

Hernandez had been a paid spokesman for Just for Men gel, but the company recently discontinued its relationship with the former first baseman because, in Hernandez’s words, “[the] ads were stale.” So, he stopped using it and his mustache has since began turning grayer and grayer, to the point where the SNY broadcaster might just shave it all off.

While fans of Seinfeld might cringe at the thought of Hernandez stache-less, Red Sox fans need not worry. Last we checked, Jerry Remy‘s whiskers aren’t going anywhere.
