The NHL is quickly approaching the end of its collective bargaining agreement, meaning a lockout is likely, but the Boston Bruins are
doing everything they can to keep their key players around for as long as
Milan Lucic is
the third Bruin that general manager Peter
Chiarelli has been able to sign to a multiyear extension this offseason. The deal is worth $18 million over a three-year span, and Lucic will get to play alongside Brad Marchand and Tyler
Seguin for much of that time after they were inked to four- and six-year extensions, respectively.
Lucic said Saturday how grateful he is to remain with the team. The 24-year-old forward is entering his sixth
year in the league, all of which have been with Boston. He's had 90 goals, 122 assists and a Stanley Cup title while with the Bruins.
