The first day of the lockout has passed and players are already planning for an immediate future without a NHL hockey.
Many notable NHL players have already begun signing contracts to play in Europe in case the lockout extends into the regular season. Evgeni Malkin and Jaromir Jagr are among those planning ahead.
Dale Arnold spoke to Sean Kelly — former executive director of the NHLPA — on NESN Daily about the future of the lockout, and at what point we may see the NHL or NHLPA budge. Kelly said that players may be the first to budge once they start missing game paychecks.
