Zdeno Chara is sticking around the Boston area doing charity work, but some Bruins are already planning their exodus in case the lockout looms.
Chara was in the area on Monday for his second annual Big Z Challenge that benefits New Hampshire's Hospital For Children. While he was around, he also participated with some of his teammates in an informal practice at Harvard's Bright Arena.
The Boston defenseman — wearing a black and yellow Reebok jersey with no Bruins or NHL logos — spoke with Naoko Funayama for NESN Daily and says he's staying positive and patient about the lockout, since it's still early in the process.
Two of Chara's teammates have already made plans to play in Europe if this lockout continues. David Krejci is dealing with an insurance issue that will allow him to play in a Czech league, and goalie Anton Khudobin signed with HC Atlant in the KHL.
