Chris Wilcox, Jeff Green Excited, Grateful to Be Healthy for Celtics' Season-Opener in MiamiThis time last year — and by that we mean "on opening night" and not "Oct. 30," when the lockout was still in effect — Jeff Green was in street clothes watching the Celtics take on the Knicks at Madison Square Garden. Green had been diagnosed with an aortic aneurysm shortly before training camp, and he would be sidelined the entire season.

Chris Wilcox was in uniform on that Christmas Day in New York, but his season would also be cut short by a heart abnormality. In the months that followed, the two free agents formed a bond that contributed to both re-signing with the Celtics in the offseason.

Neither player is entirely back to his presurgery condition, but both are far improved from where they were healthwise just a few months ago. That was reason for celebration for both on Tuesday, and they expressed their excitement and thanks via Twitter.

"Excited about [Tuesday night] … may get a little emotional," Green tweeted.

Wilcox echoed Green's enthusiasm.

"Hard to believe I am here after all that happened this year," Wilcox tweeted.

The Celtics and Heat tip off at 8 p.m. at AmericanAirlines Arena. Check out Green's and Wilcox's tweets below.
