NHL Players, Owners Continue Stalemate in Labor Negotiations (Video)

NHL players would like to meet with the owners, but the owners refuse to meet unless the players agree to negotiate on the league’s terms. The players want to negotiate on their own terms and thus more NHL games continue to be cancelled.

On Friday, the league cancelled all regular-season contests through Nov. 30 and reports say the Winter Classic will be cancelled on Thursday.

NHLPA executive director Donald Fehr sent a letter outlining the union’s plan to continue negotiations, but the owners still aren’t interested in meeting. As the likelihood of a lost hockey season continues to become a reality, fans can only hope one side budges in the coming days.

Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune gave some insight regarding the major lockout issues at hand on NESN Daily on Tuesday. To hear his thoughts, check out the video above.
