Ray Allen Downplays Kevin Garnett’s Snub, Says ‘That’s Just KG’

Kevin Garnett
claimed this offseason that he lost Ray Allen's phone number. Judging by Garnett's cold shoulder on Tuesday night, he probably wasn't joking.

Garnett ignored Allen when the former Celtic went over to the Boston bench upon checking into Tuesday's season opener. Allen patted Garnett on the shoulder, but KG barely batted an eyelash, instead maintaining the same ferocious look Celtics fans are accustomed to seeing.

The snub had the Internet firing on all cylinders, as it became apparent that Garnett really does hold some hostility toward Allen for leaving the Celtics for the Heat in the offseason. Allen isn't buying into the hostility talk, however.

"That's just KG," Allen told TNT's Craig Sager on the court after the game. "He probably didn't see me coming. Those guys, I love those guys. I can't say enough good things about them. I love New England. It will always be my home and will always be a special place for me and my family."

Allen's postgame comments coincide with what he's stated all along — that he's a "Celtic for life." Perhaps that's the case in his own mind, but KG might actually feel otherwise.
