Whether the Red Sox need another closer or not, they appear to be getting one — and for a pretty good price.
Pittsburgh’s Joel Hanrahan, who has been one of Major League Baseball’s best shutdown pitchers in recent seasons, is reportedly on his way to Boston in exchange for several Red Sox prospects. While details are still in flux, it appears that Boston will get a key bullpen piece and only give up what The Boston Globe’s Peter Abraham calls “spare parts.”
