Keep in mind folks, spring training is a couple weeks longer this year.
With that extra time to prepare for the baseball season (and the World Baseball Classic), it means teams can treat early spring injuries more conservatively, and that’s exactly what the Red Sox are doing with Clay Buchholz. Buchholz spoke to Tom Caron and Peter Gammons on Wednesday, and said that in the day since he first injured his hamstring, the injury has already half-healed according to Sox trainers. Nonetheless, the extra time means Buchholz can be sure he’s 100 percent before resuming full baseball activities.
