After Bobby Valentine questioned Kevin Youkilis‘ dedication last season, Dustin Pedroia was the first player to publicly defend his then-teammate. But just because Pedroia may not have agreed with everything Valentine did last season doesn’t mean he blames the former manager for the Red Sox’ last place finish in 2012.
Pedroia spoke about the differences between John Farrell and Valentine on WEEI’s Dennis and Callahan on Wednesday morning. The second baseman said that Farrell is very open and he can always expect a direct answer from the new skipper.
Pedroia also spoke on his new teammates, clubhouse chemistry and where he feels comfortable in the batting order (spoiler alert: he thinks he deserves to bat cleanup).
Check out what Pedroia expects from the 2013 season in the video above.
