Things certainly looked bleak for the Buffalo Sabres after two periods. The Bruins led, Ryan Miller was under siege and if things didn’t turn around, head coach Lindy Ruff might have very soon found himself on the unemployment line. But everything changed in the third period, when the Sabres roared back to overtake the Bruins and keep Ruff on the bench for at least one game more.
Miller’s 30 saves paved the way for Buffalo to beat the Bruins in regulation once again, making them the only team to accomplish that feat so far in the 2013 season. Despite Dougie Hamilton‘s first career goal, the Bruins couldn’t capitalize on their chances and paid the price in the end.
