The Bruins stepped on the gas in the waning minutes of Saturday’s loss to the Maple Leafs, but in the end, it was too little too late.
The Bruins out-shot Toronto by a 33 – 13 margin, yet couldn’t find the finishing touch to put the puck in the net. Bruins’ coach Claude Julien told Naoko Funayama after the game that he needed to see more fight from his team.
“There wasn’t enough fight in the dog,” Julien said. “I didn’t think we had enough fight for, probably, two periods.”
The loss closed out a four-game road trip for the B’s, and Julien said his team is aware that they are not at the top of their game heading into the end of the season. Check out the video above to hear the rest of what Julien had to say after the loss.
