Carlos Arredondo Relives Heroic Rescue Efforts After Boston Marathon Bombings (Video)

He has become the face of the first responders — the man in a cowboy hat jumping into the fray to provide assistance to the injured seconds after two bombs exploded near the finish line of the Boston Marathon on Monday.

That man is Carlos Arredondo, and his story is an amazing one of grief, recovery and hope. Arredondo was a guest on WEEI’s The Dennis and Callahan Show on Wednesday, and he described what was going his mind as he helped carry 27-year-old Jeff Bauman. Bauman lost both of his legs in the explosion, but the help of Arredondo and other medical personnel likely saved his life.
