Ryan Dempster Says Sox Will ‘Bounce Back’ Against Orioles After Rain Delay Cuts Short His Fenway Debut (Video)


The Red Sox all but had it in the bag on Wednesday night against the Orioles, going into the ninth up 5-3. But the winds changed, and the O’s plated five runs off of Red Sox closer Joel Hanrahan in the ninth inning, handing the Sox their first home loss of 2013.

Starting pitcher Ryan Dempster put the Sox in a solid position early in the game, but after a rain delay the right-hander retired for the night.
