The Red Sox were swept in a series for the first time this season by the Texas Rangers, halting the positive momentum the Sox had been building throughout April.
Starter Jon Lester pitched six innings in the loss, and despite his offense giving him a considerable cushion, was unable to stave off the Rangers as they tied things up in the sixth. Lester admitted after the game that he could have done a better job of minimizing the damage done by the Rangers’ offense.
