Mike Carp hit a home run against the Rangers on Tuesday night as the Red Sox poured in 17 runs against the Rangers. Unfortunately, that won’t be the enduring memory of the outfielder after this one.
It will more likely than not be Carp’s eighth-inning at-bat that is remembered, because it came against non-pitcher David Murphy and it ended with a strikeout. It’s a moment that the Sox should be able to laugh off because it came in a blowout, but it’s the rest of the night for Carp that should be more reason to smile for Sox fans.
NESN Nation’s Dan Duquette is naming Carp our “Texas Beleaguered” player of the game. Who’s yours?
