The Bruins’ eight-game win streak at home was snapped when the New York Islanders came to town on Tuesday night.
Although the B’s jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the second period, the Isles came roaring back to score four unanswered goals and take the New Year’s Eve contest.
The Bruins had their chances, and one of their best came when Patrice Bergeron fought through Brian Strait‘s hook and tried to beat Evgeni Nabokov five-hole to pull Boston within one. Nabokov smothered Bergeron’s attempt, however, and his clutch save earns the Islanders goalie DCU Save of the Game honors.
