Anze Kopitar is one of the league’s premier defensive forwards, and it was a takeaway from the Los Angeles Kings center that set up the first goal of Thursday’s game against the Boston Bruins.

Kopitar was pressuring the Bruins defensemen on the forecheck when Johnny Boychuk whiffed on a pass and had the puck stolen by the Kings forward. Kopitar then found teammate Jeff Carter skating hard toward the net, and Carter took a pass from Kopitar and scored on Bruins goaltender Tuukka Rask.
